Modular Therapy (MT) vs. Treatment as Usual (TAU) for Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) in Military Personnel: A Pilot Study

People Involved

Project Description

ICD-11 Complex PTSD is a new condition and there are currently no identified effective treatments. We have recently proposed in the literature a new innovative person centred intervention for CPTSD, which involves targeting the symptoms of CPTSD clusters sequentially using concrete modules. This intervention has never been tested in a military population before. As a first step we will conduct a case series of n = of modular therapy for CPTSD. We will assess outcomes at pre, post-treatment, 6-weeks, and 3-months follow up. The project will provide initial findings on the acceptability and pottential bebefits of a new treatment for CPTSD. Findings will inform an adequately international pilot trial on veterans with CPTSD.
This project, has been funded by the Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT), a £35 million funding scheme run by the FiMT using an endowment awarded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
