Project Description

Edinburgh Napier University respectfully request that the Trustees consider this proposal to support the launch of the Wilfred Owen Scholarship Fund as a dedicated scholarship for the spouses and partners of armed forces personnel and veterans in Scotland. The establishment of this dedicated Scholarship is part of the CMREPE, ENU vision to ensuring greater access to education for the armed forces and their families. The impact of the scholarship goes beyond supporting just the family as it strengthens the employment opportunities and future career prospects for this group. In turn this would reduce the pressure on transitioning partners to return immediately to the labour market and subsequently allow space and time for educational opportunities and ultimately attainment of meaningful employment.
