This project seeks to understand the role new technology has played in delivering on line counselling during the Covid 19 pandemic 2020.
Counselling is recognised as a process where trained therapists seek to build trusting relationships with clients to aid recovery. The objectives if the project are as follows:
Objectives:
1.To identify through online interviews with practitioners the barriers and enablers for online counselling, and specifically when using new technology to transition from face to face counselling provision.
2.To critically examine the lived experience of working from home whilst providing online services.
3.To explore perceptions around the efficacy of building trusting relationships online.
4.To draw conclusions and provide recommendations on the future of work aimed at practitioners in the field and associated academics.
