Community Engagement: Intercultural activities to support the work of third sector organisation Forth Valley Welcome, Sanctuary for Refugees in the Heart of Scotland

Description Together with 3 colleagues in Intercultural Communication at ENU, I worked with staff at third sector organisation Forth Valley Welcome and groups of women from Ukraine and Afghanistan to co-create 'cultural presentations' to share with volunteers and others who support New Scots and Ukrainians in the Stirling area. The project involved a series of workshops followed by 2 'sharing events'. It was funded by ENU's Public Engagement fund.

Community Engagement: 'Borderlines' - collaborating with West Yorkshire Playhouse (Leeds) and Theater an der Parkaue (Berlin) to run theatre workshops for young people

Description In 2010 - 11 I was involved in a collaboration between the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds and Theater an der Parkaue in Berlin on the theme of 'borderlines'. Staff from both theatres and young people from both cities participated in a number of workshops in which I was involved in an advisory role. I also conducted group interviews and focus groups with the young participants and fed the results back to the
theatres.
