COST A14 - Government and Democracy in the Information Age
1998 - 2003

Description COST (Cooperation in Science and Technology) Action (A14), established a European research network spanning 16 countries and around 70 researchers, called GaDIA (Government and Democracy in the Information Age)

The network pioneered work on the relations between democracy, politics and ICT, and was instrumental in establishing this as a research field within European political science.

One of the UK’s two nominated representatives in the ‘ICTs and Political Organisations’ Working Group (W.G.2), then subsequently appointed as a ‘specialist advisor’ to the ‘Cyberdemocracy’ Working Group (W.G.1).
