Abstract
Developing graduates with the appropriate skills for future employment is an issue that affects every sector of industry. Research within the Life Sciences sector in Scotland has identified a number of areas where improvements could be made in the skills of graduates seeking employment. Academic staff working in partnership with employers and also Academic Support Services have developed and integrated the Skills Passport within a Programme of study to provide a framework to engage students in skills development relevant to the Life Sciences sector. The primary aim of the project was to encourage students to develop their reflective skills and to document their skills and self-development during their Programme of study. Preliminary research by the project team has identified key successes as well as a number of areas for further development.
