This will allow me to continue and extend some of the work that I do, to promote and support policy and practice which results in an increase in total physical activity time, mainly as a result in an increase in walking for transport, and overall an improvement in population health across Scotland.
In the detail, this will include drafting at least 20 Essential Evidence for Scotland 1 page summaries. It will also support me in offering and delivering further training sessions for the public sector on road transport and public health. More generally, it will enable me to engage with public policy actors across Scotland (as well as internationally) in helping to champion the cause of active and sustainable transport, including in the context of public transport and it's direct links to walking. I remain a member of Transport Scotland's 20mph Task Group.
