Project Description

The work performed in this project will help to clarify the route to net-zero carbon in non-domestic buildings by using building performance evaluation of two as-built examples of early years buildings. The implementation of methodologies for indoor air quality, infra-red thermography, air-tightness testing and in-situ U-value will provide as-built data that can calibrate and increase accuracy of future design stage modelling. Critical to this study will also be to pin-point the sensors and monitoring required to understand building resilience to climate change over its operational use. The overarching results and analysis of this study will provide a vital data set of net-zero performance and inform materials and building techniques which can be optimised for a climate resilient operation
