Project Description

Traditionally energy balance in distilling has focused around process function or operation. The intention of this study is to develop a holistic approach; which includes aspects such as availability and redundancy of energy producing and absorbing equipment in batch operations using a site-wide energy balance approach, which can be simply modelled so that it can be used to inform other small-scale distillers.
The application and adaption of new still technologies and process optimisation across the broader operations on-site will be assessed as part of this study.
