Project Description
The purpose of this proposed research is to deliver timber product and process innovation whilst developing human capital. 4 thematic areas of research have been identified for exploration:
1. Digitisation of Timber Offsite and Modern Methods of Construction
2. Solid Laminated Timber Systems
3. Timber Retrofit Solutions
4. Sustainable Communities Pre-manufactured from Wood
These areas of research will be moved forward by identifying new talent via the Built Environment Exchange (beX) platform. The identified beX scholars will be supervised by the skilled experts of the Centre for Offsite Construction + Innovative Structures. The work will be carried out at strategic level but be closely linked with industry and where possible live projects to ensure commercial drivers are taken into account.
