Project Description
Given the knowledge, infrastructure and resource that resides within Scotland, there is a real opportunity here to be a key player in the global offsite construction market. The emphasis now is to scale and internationalise this capacity by capitalising on secured investment in order to fully exploit the potential of the sector given the global trends towards low carbon and modern methods of construction. To do so a CSIC Offsite HUB structure, suitably supported, funded (from industry and public sector) and resourced is essential.
In order to establish the CSIC Offsite HUB three key work themes have been identified:
1. HUB Set-up: deliver the industry demand driven collaborative framework and terms of engagement between identified CORE, ADVANCED and COMMUNITY membership with a view to expanding post project.
2. HUB Internationalisation: host a workshop with international partners to develop a strategy for the internationalisation of offsite construction and create pathways for knowledge exchange.
3. HUB Branding and Marketing Strategy: implement a branding, sales and promotional strategy for the Scottish Offsite sector and develop the required partnerships for scaling operations.
