Dr Pascal Cicchetti

Biography	PM Cicchetti is a film critic, educator and scholar based between Bologna and Edinburgh. He writes for several film magazines in Italy, Switzerland and the US, and has been lecturing at various universities in Scotland since 2012. Starting in 2018, he has been involved with the European Movie Masters programme KINOEYES.
Research Interests	My areas of interest tend to gravitate towards the historical role of cinema in relation to larger paradigms of legibility, in a loosely Jamesonian vein. In particular, I have researched the development of film genres from a cultural-historical perspective (e.g. the combat film and the investigative thriller in the post 9/11 years) or the legacy of deep-rooted spatial structures (the city, the frontier, the house) in American films at the onset of the millennium.
