Description Invited subject matter expert for a consultation meeting with Digital Healthcare developers and a Scottish Government representative to advise on the development of the Tailored Talks platform, ensuring its alignment with published recommendations on good practice for shared decision-making and consent. Tailored Talks enables clinicians to access specialist information quickly to create customised presentations for patients. Currently, the platform is used in partnership with NHS Lothian and Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland to assist patients recovering from COVID-19 after being in an Intensive Care Unit.

Description First Steps into Research placement for two clinical pharmacists within an interdisciplinary research team working on the NIHR-funded SHORTER Trial, which focuses on reducing antibiotic duration in critically ill sepsis patients. The team includes experts from nursing, medicine, infectious diseases, microbiology, statistics, and health economics, employing diverse methodologies, such as a pragmatic open-label RCT and a mixed-methods Process Evaluation (PE). Under Gosha’s leadership, the Process Evaluation integrates a novel framework combining PE with behavioural change theory, which is particularly innovative within critical care research. The trial is currently in the Internal Pilot phase and being rolled out across 50 UK ICU sites. The successful candidates will work closely with this dynamic group, gaining exposure to cutting-edge research methodologies and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Winner of the Environmental Standards Scotland Tender

Description Gosha successfully secured a bid to undertake a project commissioned by Environmental Standards Scotland. The culmination of this work resulted in a published report on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in the Scottish Environment. Commissioned following the Baseline Evidence Review by Environmental Standards Scotland in 2022, this report strategically explores the need to understand the origins, impacts, and measures for controlling AMR in Scotland. The report adopts a meticulous methodology, emphasising the significance of credibility and reliability in its pursuit of understanding. This approach ensures that the findings presented are not only informative but also robust, setting a standard for future research endeavours.
