| Biography | Dr. Nader Seyedkalali is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Business Management (Strategy) at the Business School, Edinburgh Napier University, where he leads the MSc in International Business Management and is a member of the Centre for Business Innovation and Sustainable Solutions (CBISS). His research focuses on Strategic Management, particularly at its intersection with Sustainability, Technology, and Entrepreneurship. He examines how firms—especially SMEs—navigate digital transformation, institutional complexity, and environmental challenges through strategic decision-making and sustainable business model innovation. His work draws on behavioral strategy, cognitive theories, and the capability-based view to explore how organizations develop dynamic capabilities, manage strategic paradoxes, and build resilience in the face of uncertainty and change. Dr. Seyedkalali has extensive experience in academia and consulting, collaborating with C-level executives across the public sector, banking, telecommunications, and diversified business groups. He has contributed to the development of strategic plans and implementation frameworks across various industries. He was previously Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies (IHCS), where he also founded and directed the Centre for Innovation and Technology Studies. He has served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cologne in Germany and as a Visiting Professor at the University of Tehran, where he regularly taught strategy and organization modules. He has supervised numerous PhD and master’s students, mentoring them in producing industry-relevant research. Dr. Seyedkalali has co-founded and chaired major academic and industry-focused events in Tehran, including the International Conferences on Strategic Management, the Business Analysis and Analytics Conference, and the National Strategy Award for Iranian Companies. These events have brought together hundreds of professionals from academia and industry to foster collaboration and the exchange of impactful ideas.
