Biography | Dr. Nader Seyedkalali is a Lecturer at the Business School, Edinburgh Napier University, where he leads the MSc in International Business Management and is a member of the Centre for Business Innovation and Sustainable Solutions (CBISS). He is a Strategic Management scholar whose research focuses on strategic growth, resilience, and capability development, with a strong interest in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). His work explores the intersections of Strategic Management with International Business and Corporate Sustainability, and also examines how organizations respond to digital transformation and emerging technologies. He investigates how firms develop dynamic capabilities, manage strategic paradoxes, pursue internationalization, and innovate sustainable business models to adapt, scale, and thrive in an evolving global environment. Dr. Seyedkalali has extensive experience in academia and industry consulting, collaborating with C-level executives across the public sector, banking, telecommunications, and diversified business groups. He has contributed to the development of strategic plans and implementation frameworks across industries. He was a tenured Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies (IHCS), where he also founded and directed the Centre for Innovation and Technology Studies. He has also served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cologne in Germany and as a Visiting Professor at the University of Tehran, where he regularly taught strategy and organization modules. Throughout his academic career, he has supervised PhD and master’s students, mentoring them in producing industry-relevant research. Dr. Seyedkalali has co-founded and chaired major academic and industry-focused events in Tehran, including the International Conferences on Strategic Management, the Business Analysis and Analytics Conference, and the National Strategy Award for Iranian Companies.
