Homa Rahimi
Biography | I am a Ph.D. researcher at Edinburgh Napier University with a diverse academic background. Originally from Iran, I pursued my passion for academia by studying for a BA in Political Sciences (2008) and MA in Regional Studies (2011). After moving to the UK, I continued her journey at Sheffield University, where I obtained my second MA in Governance and Public Policy (2016), developing my knowledge of governance theory and public policy analysis. This academic background led me to develop an interest in new public management, mainly in human resource management area. Therefore, I continued my studies in the Human Resource Management (HRM) area, gaining an advanced Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and my MSc degree from Edinburgh Napier University (2021), which led in receiving Associate Membership of the CIPD. I have also worked in various sectors, both public and private, in different roles, such as HR administrator in NHS Hospitals and later as co-founder and director in my family business (Hoist-UK Ltd.). I am trained teacher and have long experience in teaching in both Iran and the UK, including teaching English at Edinburgh College. I work as Business Tutor in Edinburgh Napier University International College and teach Human Resource Management. Driven by my curiosity and desire to contribute to academia, I am currently researching for my Ph.D. in integrating Lean Thinking and Talent Management in the hospitality sector. I aim to come up with conceptual model which allows hotel organisations to built a sustainable talent pipeline. |
