Recognition Type Invited Speaker
Description This one-day workshop explored the recent (2024) update of the ICM Essential Competencies for Midwifery Practice and introduced participants to a new ‘hands on ’peer-to-peer digital learning solution developed by ICM and Laerdal. This learning solution is designed for student midwives to practice and develop the skills and behaviours they need to acquire the ICM Competencies.

Following the competency activities participants had an opportunity to familiarise themselves with ICM’s Midwifery Education Development Pathway (MPath), a set of resources for midwife educators to use to strengthen midwifery education programmes. This session included consultation on the new draft ICM Standards for Faculty Development.
