Dr Angus Sutherland

Biography	I recently completed my PhD at the University of Edinburgh, which focused on W. G. Sebald and the emblem tradition. I'm currently preparing a monograph on the same subject. I got my MA in English from Georgetown University and my BA (Hons) in English Literature from Newcastle University. I'm the 2024-5 British Society for Eighteenth Century Studies (BSEC) Northumbria Fellow. This award is in support of my research into the early life and work (agricultural and literary) of James Hogg. I teach on Napier's English programmes and work as an Academic Skills Adviser for the Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement.
