International 'Moving Through Cancer' Initiative
2019 - 2024

Description I am part of a group of international experts in the field of exercise oncology(an oncologist, cancer phsyiatrists, exercise physiologists, oncology nurse, policy expert and behaviour change expert) who have formed this initiative to try to standardise workforce training and exercise provision as part of standard cancer care world wide.
We are publishing call to action papers and are linking with pharmaceutical and fitness companies for funding as well as linking with ACSM and Macmillan. We have developed a register of all cancer exercise programmes worldwide

Chair ACSM international Cancer Special Interest Group
2019 - 2020

Description American College of Sports Medicine is the largest international society in the area of exercise and health with over 50,000 members. I was voted as Chair of the Cancer Special Interest Group. This group consists of >400 cancer exercise researchers from students to Professors who meet each year at the ACSM conference. We communicate during the year by newsletters and twitter conference (which reached 450300 unique users) and get external funding from companies to provide awards for best posters / presentations at the ACSM conference. I also am on the panel to decide with symposia, lectures and tutorials in the area of cancer and exercise are accepted for the conference
