Dr Martin Robertson M.Robertson2@napier.ac.uk
Associate Professor
Models of knowledge cities, the learning city, the incubation city, the smart city, and knowledge region are well established. With the evolution of the innovation paradigm, the understanding of regional innovation is being expanded. Business events, business tourism and the institution of the university are components of this, both within the city and regionally. The research project here gives a version of this which relates to knowledge economics, innovation, and the triple helix. Within this, Martin follows recent discussion about the phenomena of knowledge absorptive capacity. Or, more particularly, knowledge slack. The UN SDGs are proposed as significant tools in reducing knowledge slack. Initial results are discussed.
