Abstract

In the wake of the pandemic, the workplace dynamics has changed significantly, particularly, the integration of digital technologies. The new workplace is also experiencing changes in its demographics as this is the first time in history that five generations are working together, causing generational disparities leading to misperceptions, stereotypes, and intergenerational biases when adapting to and utilizing digital tools. The lack of systematic literature reviews analyzing digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) among multigenerational employees in the fourth industrial revolution context demands further investigation. The chapter adopts a systematic literature review approach to explore the adoption of digital technologies including AI among a multigenerational workforce, highlighting the factors affecting the adoption. The chapter also provides several strategies that organizations can employ to bridge generational gaps and foster a more agile, productive and cohesive multigenerational workforce.
