Abstract

The three-dimensional representation of complex mechanical structures has recently received substantial research attention as it assists significantly during the design review process. Being the epitome of engineering products, submarine designs have an additional need for not only structural visualisation but also for mission rehearsal and analysis of on board procedures. This paper presents the visualisation process of a submarine rescue vehicle (SRV) and the re-enactment of a rescue mission in a 3D virtual environment.
