Abstract
The book has been written specifically to meet the needs of nursing students in Southern Africa undertaking the basic nursing science programmes, which is reflected in the title Foundations of nursing practice: fundamentals of holistic care. It aims to explain how and why sensitive, holistic and evidence-based nursing care is carried out. The content explains not only the theory that underpins nursing practice but also the fundamental nursing skills in the basic nursing science programmes.
