Evaluation is - and has been - vital in furthering the knowledge of the event manager, with findings sometimes affecting immediate plans (i.e., those occurring within 2 year) and sometimes affecting midrange plan (i.e, those occurring within 3 to 5 years). What is of increasing importance, however, are those types of research that can be ongoing and responsive to the needs of a rapidly changing market at to a far great range of stakeholders and stakeholder needs.
