TDWG Taxon Concept Transfer Schema
People Involved
Project Description
The Taxon Concept Modelling project is associated developing standard data models for representing taxonomic names and concepts for use in the biodiversity community. The work is associated with the Taxon Names and Concepts interest group of the International Taxonomic Database Working Group. Work initially concentrated on an XML transfer schema to allow for the transfer of taxonomic concept and names data sets between disparate taxonomic databases. This work is now looking at defining a core ontology for concepts and other taxonomic information for TDWG.
