This project proposes to explore the impact of career guidance interventions on the well-being of workless adults. The research designs will use a combination of qualitative data generated by semi-structured interviews, and quantitative data derived from well-being measurements. If successful, this may represent an innovative contribution to the guidance evaluation literature, with implications for research, policy and practice in career guidance. In addition it may make a contribution to the wider psychological literatures: research into interventions for unemployment has been dominated by measuring employment outcomes, to the neglect of health and well-being outcomes.
