Project Description

Small World Aviation wants to develop an AI-powered Airline Optimisation Modelto enhance and optimise its flight planning and analysis. This project focuses on utilising AI-driven data analysis for prediction, planning, and optimisation of its proposed sub-19-seat airline operation today with a view tothe future utilisation of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft orsimilar in the coming years, initially operating in the Highlands and Islands ofScotland. We will identify and synthesise data sources and investigate thefeasibility of them being used to optimise the overall airline operation. The project is innovative because it can locate and analyse data in real-time,looking at many more data points than today's systems and turning it into anautomated, AI-based work stream. This system will be the first of its kind to belaunched in the world and will form a crucial part of the Advanced Air Mobilitysector in the UK and worldwide.Teaming up with the expertise at Edinburgh Napier University offers anoutstanding commercially focussed implementation of AI-based algorithms fortransport and logistics in the UK and beyond
