People Involved

Project Description

Edinburgh Napier University is developing together with other consortium members the Edinburgh Home Programme that will demonstrate a new business model based on collaborative procurement, whole-life costings, development pipeline and greater standardisation which has the potential to transform the productivity and performance of affordable housing in Scotland.
The aim of the PhD project is for a candidate to investigate the route to efficient manufacturing productivity through a blend of whole life procurement, design, manufacturing and energy performance of homes that will achieve net-zero criteria by 2045 through imposed targets set in Scotland and the UK. The project will specifically help to accelerate the uptake in Scotland of offsite Modern Methods of Construction (MMCs) and address the affordable housing shortage in Scotland.
