The World Health Organisation (WHO) identified the workplace as an important setting to support the promotion of health and wellbeing in 1981 with the introduction of the Health for All strategy, and this was further recognised in the Ottawa Charter 1986. Since then the workplace has been a prominent setting for occupational health, safety and wellbeing with a number of UK and Scottish Government strategies dedicated to this topic. This research is being commissioned by Healthy Working Lives Fife in partnership with the Fife Health and Wellbeing Alliance to help better understand the issues surrounding the subject of ageing workforces in Fife, with a particular focus on workplace health, safety and wellbeing.
