The aim of this research is to examine policing, health professionals’ and victims’ understandings of the assessment of vulnerability for suicide in IPV victims, incorporating a cross-cultural comparison to establish:
a) How do health professionals in emergency departments and the police assess vulnerability for suicide?
b) What are the shared understandings, lived experiences, procedures and differences across professionals and cultures in assessing vulnerability for suicide?
c) How might these be improved, and are there opportunities to share knowledge and good practice across cultures and professions?
