Biography | Sheona McHale is a research fellow of cardiovascular health within the School of Health and Social Care. Since graduating from Stirling University in 2005, Sheona has worked as a specialist cardiac rehabilitation exercise instructor and a Lecturer of fitness, health and exercise. In January 2020, Sheona joined Edinburgh Napier University as a research assistant working on a project exploring views of professionals engaged in the development and provision of green health interventions. Her research interests embrace the physical activity behaviours of individuals diagnosed with cardiovascular disease and her PhD from Edinburgh Napier University (2021) was based on the perceived levels of physical activity on engagement with cardiac rehabilitation after acute coronary syndrome. Sheona's current research projects include exploring patient experiences of remote hypertension management during COVID-19 and a process evaluation assessing the implementation of the Public Health Scotland Physical Activity Referral Standards. |
