Joanne Douglas

Biography	I am the Head of Research Governance, working closely with researchers and colleagues across the University to support and enhance research quality and compliance. I am responsible for the development and application of research data management, ensuring data quality, transparency and security. I support users of Worktribe, our research management system, and work with IS colleagues to maintain the system and resolve any issues. I work closely with the Data Protection Team and School Integrity Committees to review research projects, ensuring ethical and governance compliance. I also work with internal and external partners to raise awareness of Trusted Research and Export Control legislation, and support our due diligence process. I have a background in Research Governance and Data Management. Before joining Edinburgh Napier University in 2023, I worked with the Scottish Cancer Audit Network where I managed and audited data about cancer diagnoses and treatment across Scotland. I moved to the University of Edinburgh's Clinical Research Facility in 2016 where I worked in Research Governance with a focus on Clinical Research, including Phase I-IV clinical trials.
