Sukanlaya Sawang is an accomplished academic and researcher with a wealth of experience in the public, banking, and education sectors across Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. She specializes in organizational psychology and innovation management and currently holds the position of Research Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship while leading the research Centre for Business Innovation and Sustainable Solutions (CBISS) and Management department at Edinburgh Napier University's Business School.

In addition to her role at Edinburgh Napier University, Sukanlaya also holds adjunct professor at Queensland University of Technology in Australia, and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. Her research focuses primarily on small business, entrepreneurship, and innovation management, and she has made significant contributions to the fields of small business innovation, well-being, and technological innovation.

Sukanlaya has an impressive portfolio that includes managing large research grants, developing specialized academic courses, and providing consultancy services to small businesses in Asia and Australia. Her expertise has been recognized through esteemed awards and grants, such as the 'Emerald Management Reviews Citation of Excellence' and an Australian Research Council grant.

Currently, Sukanlaya's interest lies in exploring the critical drivers for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to adopt more environmentally sustainable business models for sustainable growth. She aims to address the pressing issue of climate change and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Active in the academic community, Sukanlaya serves as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Psychology and BMC Psychology, reviews for top journals, and presents her findings at major international conferences. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, U.K., and a member of the Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research and the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
Research Interests Sukanlaya's work focuses on the psychology aspects of small business/entrepreneurship and innovation management. Her research is framed by three broad topics: (1) small business and sustainable innovation, (2) small business and well-being, and (3) technological innovation and well-being.
