Biography Lydia is a critical care researcher who joined Edinburgh Napier University as a Senior Research Fellow in 2023.

She was awarded a prestigious four-year PhD fellowship by the Medical Research Council (MRC) Network of Hubs for Trials Methodology Research, which she undertook at Queen's University Belfast. The focus of this work was to develop framework guidance for conducting process evaluations within complex critical care trials.

Lydia's research interests remain in clinical trials methodology, with a specific focus on process evaluation of complex intervention trials in critical care. Lydia is highly experienced in the design and conduct of process evaluations within the intensive care unit setting, and has been involved in the design and delivery of several large UK-wide randomised controlled trials.
