Biography | I hold a PhD in Japanese private law. I was awarded twice (2016-2017 and 2020-2022) the Japanese Ministry of Education scholarship for exceptional research results. My ambition is to put into practice the multidisciplinary approach to legal scholarship and history by presenting essential topics to the general audience by investigating Western and Japanese sources and diverse views on less-known subjects. In June 2015, I graduated from the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, University of Wroclaw (LLB+LLM). As a PhD student, I researched Japanese private law and legal culture at Tokyo Metropolitan University. I defended my PhD (Hons) in January 2022. I am a Lecturer in Family Law and Children's Rights Law at Edinburgh Napier University, and the Deputy Director of The Centre for Child and Family Law and Policy. The Pacific War is my life’s passion, remarkably influencing my academic skills and career path, particularly my love for the Japanese language. My research achievements include eight monographs and over twenty articles related to law and history, published in Polish, English and Japanese. |
