It follows international and domestic walking tourists on trails associated with the ATHR to develop a theoretical understanding of the relationship between people, places, nature, and touristic and leisure practices. The research uncovered four communities present on the ATHR’s trails, who were differentiated based on their practices, sought experiences, interactions with the ATHR, and values surrounding nature encounters and ‘correct’ ways of walking in nature.
