Biography James H Dugdale is a lecturer in sport science and coaching boasting over a decade of professional and academic experience in applied sport science. Specialising in the preparation, identification, and development of adolescent soccer athletes, James has experience working with youth athletes, coaches, and parents in both a research and applied setting. As a practitioner, James has worked as a strength and conditioning coach and sport scientist across multiple sports and with abilities ranging from professional sports teams to novices. Before joining Napier in 2021, James completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Stirling working on an Innovate UK and industry funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership developing a talent identification and development platform for youth soccer players. James also previously completed a PhD studentship match-funded by the University of Stirling and Soccer PDP in the same discipline. James has demonstrated his scholarly abilities through academic teaching, peer-reviewed publications, student supervision, oral presentations, and industry consultancy.
