Biography Niina Turtola uses both texts and images to explore conventions of book, layout, and writing. Her work has been exhibited internationally in several countries such as Finland, Namibia, UK, Germany, and United States. She has defended her artistic research in 2021 on typographic estrangement where everyday words are made visible by pragmatic enstrangement projects of Turtola. Turtola works as a lecturer of contextual studies of design, graphic design and design theory at the Edinburgh Napier University. Turtola is book designer, information designer, text designer and a contemporary, conceptual artist and a writer.
