Dr Mina Jowkar

Biography Dr Mina Jowkar is a lecturer in Architectural Technology in the School of Built Environment at Edinburgh Napier University. She is currently the program leader of Construction Project Management Global Online.
Prior to her current role, Mina worked as a postdoctoral researcher at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Norway, where she was involved in teaching and various European research projects including ‘Citizen participation in urban planning in smart cities’, ‘Sustainable building renovation’ and ‘Thermal comfort in extremely cold climates’.
Mina has completed her PhD in “Thermal comfort in the UK higher learning environments” at Coventry University; and her MSc (with distinction) in Architectural Engineering at Heriot-Watt University, UK, where she conducted a research project on “The influence of indoor vegetation on moisture control in a Scottish care home”.
Her research interest includes ‘building performance simulation, ‘thermal comfort’, ‘retrofit technologies’, ‘urban development in smart cities’ and ‘social health and well-being in buildings and neighbourhoods’.
