Co-organiser of a field trip/workshop activity on gendered violence and RJ during the 12th EFRJ Biannual Conference
2024

Recognition Type Conference Organising Activity
Description During the EFRJ conference we co-organised a field trip/workshop session which included Estonian practitioners, judges, psychiatrists, support organisations workers and international participants of the conference. On the one hand I spoke to the group about the current research but then we organised peacemaking circles with the whole group which were quite tricky to set up but hugely successful and helped unlock a quite tricky situation as it allowed for frank but respectful and forward-looking exchanges on a complicated topic in Estonia and beyond.

Co-organiser of the Scottish Network of Restorative Justice Researchers (SNRJR) yearly Webinars
2019

Recognition Type Conference Organising Activity
Description We created the SNRJR in 2018 with 2 colleagues and got funding from the SCCJR for the development of a network, in particular to organise a series of seminars. The main aim is to blend international and local expertise, form both academia and practice or policy, with the aim to support the development of RJ in Scotland.

We did the first seminar on Arts and RJ with 4 speakers (from Belgium and Scotland, including Shetland) at the both international and local and had about 40 participants.
Because of the pandemic we had to go online, and so far have kept it that way as it allows for different kinds of speakers and audience - for each event we have between 40 and 120 participants.
In 2020 we had one on Education and RJ (with 4 speakers from Canada, Finland, England and Scotland)
In 2021 we had one RJ and criminal courts (with 4 speakers, 2 from Belgium and 2 from Scotland) organised in collaboration with SCCJR.
In 2022 we had one on RJ and policing (with 5 speakers from Denmark, Norway, Finland, England and Scotland), organised in collaboration with SIPR.
In 2023 we had one on RJ and children's rights (with 5 speakers from Israel and Scotland) organised in collaboration with CYCJ.
In 2024 we had one on serious crime and RJ (with 4 speakers from Belgium, England and Scotland).

My 2 colleagues and I who co-chair the SNRJR organise those collectively and then I generally chair and introduce the webinar as well as close it, one of the other colleagues deals with registrations and the other practical bits and the last ones moderates the discussions between the papers and at the end.
