TrueDeploy recognised as Start Up of the Year

Summary Last night’s awards also saw recognition for start-up company TrueDeploy. Founded by Dr Pavlos Papadopoulos, Lecturer within ENU’s School of Computing, Engineering & the Built Environment, TrueDeploy offers secure software data automation with the use of patent-pending technology. Pavlos was joined by TrueDeploy Technical Lead Owen Lo to receive the award last night.

The project been backed with funding from several influential programmes to support its spin-out from the University.

Edinburgh Napier’s strength in cybersecurity bolsters Scotland’s tech ecosystem

Summary Lecturer and researcher Dr Pavlos Papadopoulos, is one of a line of innovators in cyber security looking to spin-out out of Edinburgh Napier’s School of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment.

Edinburgh Napier University has a track record of delivering pioneering research and translating this research into economically impactful spinouts which are creating high-value jobs and helping put Edinburgh and Scotland on the map as a leading cyber security research and development nation. Edinburgh Napier’s skills offering in cybersecurity includes fully certified National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) graduate apprenticeships, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The University was one of the first UK institutions to receive accreditation from the NCSC. Alongside Pavlos, many of Edinburgh Napier’s academics are also entrepreneurs, able to provide students and graduates with the skills needed to grasp the opportunities of continued digitalisation and supporting Scotland’s economic transformation.

Promising cyber security project supported by new Scottish Enterprise funding

Summary TrueDeploy, an exciting project from the School of Computing, Engineering & the Built Environment (SCEBE) at Edinburgh Napier University (ENU), has secured £199,952 in additional support from Scottish Enterprise.

The project has received the funding as part of Scottish Enterprise’s High Growth Spin-out Programme (HGSP). It was previously awarded £73,418 from HGSP and £31,973 from Innovate UK’s CyberASAP programme.

TrueDeploy helps enterprises improve their software security and protect privacy through innovative distributed ledger and Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) technology. This latest funding puts it on course to launch next year.

Scottish Enterprise supports promising cyber security business

Summary SCOTTISH Enterprise has supported a new cyber security business project from Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) with a major cash injection.

TrueDeploy, a project from the School of Computing, Engineering & the Built Environment (SCEBE) at Edinburgh Napier University (ENU), has secured £199,952 in additional support from the Scots funding agency.

The project has received the funding as part of Scottish Enterprise’s High Growth Spin-out Programme (HGSP).

It was previously awarded £73,418 from HGSP and £31,973 from Innovate UK’s CyberASAP programme.

Napier spin-outs help supply chain cyber security

Summary TWO projects from Edinburgh Napier’s School of Computing have won funding from a programme which develops innovative cyber security ideas for the commercial market.

TrueDeploy and Trustd are being supported by CyberASAP, which is itself funded by the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport working with Innovate UK.

CyberASAP creates a pipeline to commercialise innovations from university labs, providing academics with the expertise, knowledge and training needed to convert their research into technologies, products and services.

The university’s TrueDeploy project, which is developing innovative technology to bring trust and transparency to the software supply chain, has already received backing from Scottish Enterprise as part of its high growth spin-out programme. Now it has been awarded £31,973 for the next four months as part of CyberASAP phase one.
