Biography Savvas Papadopoulos received the M. Eng. (Hons.) degree in electrical engineering from The University of Nottingham, U.K., in 2012, where he has also completed his Ph.D. degree in the Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Group in 2016. Between 2016 to 2018 he held a Research Fellow position in the PEMC group working in the areas of power electronics and electrical drives. Since 2019 he has been appointed Lecturer in Electrical engineering at Edinburgh Napier University.

His main research interests include power electronics development for renewable energy sources, distributed generation and energy storage as well as electrification of transport
Research Interests Power Electronics Converters, Drives and control for:
• Distributed Generation and Energy storage (battery, supercapacitor, flywheel)
• Electrification of transport (electric vehicles, more electric aircraft)
• Power Quality (active filtering)
• Interfacing renewable energy sources to the grid
