Dr Emilia Sobolewska
Biography | Dr Emilia Sobolewska is a Lecturer and Researcher in the School of Computing at Edinburgh Napier University. Her research interests include User Experience and Interaction Design, as well as Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). She holds a PhD in Computing from Edinburgh Napier University focusing on coping techniques of people rejecting technology. Also, a PgCert Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, a MSc Multimedia and Interactive Systems, and a MSc in Sociology from the University of Bialystok. Emilia is a Higher Academy Fellow, accredited by Staff and Educational Development Association; designing, developing and leading both undergraduate and postgraduate Programmes, including BSc (Hons) Web Design and Development, accredited by British Computing Society, MSc Computing with User Experience and MSC Computing with Professional Placement, directed towards international students. She is a visiting lecturer at the Zhengzhou University of Light Industry and External Thesis Examiner for MSc Computing at Charles Darwin University in New Zealand. She holds the position of the Director of Sensorium, a forward-looking User Experience Evaluation Lab, enabling real-time measurement of physical, psychological, and neurological reactions and behaviour of people as they interact with systems and services. Within her role she is specialising in research methods, actively collaborating with, and aiding colleagues across the University as well as commercial partners within multiple research areas. |
