Anne Chalmers

Biography In 2020 I moved from being a Lecturer, to being a Global Online Tutor. I am involved in several modules in the programmes.

Before this, when working as a lecturer in Marketing Department, I was a module leader for modules in branding, online marketing and consumer behaviour. An area I enjoy is the development of teaching materials, usually for distance learning environment.

I was programme leader for the Business School Undergraduate Flexible Managed Programme. This internal transfer programme allows students to personalise their programme, with careful guidance to ensure regulations and learning outcomes are achieved.

I was also a school disability contact – which is a point of contact for students who require additional support due to a disability, medical condition or specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia.

I was a PDT while a lecturer and as a Global Online Tutor an initiative started in 2021 meant this once again is a role I will be taking on.

Outwith Edinburgh Napier, I am increasingly involved in volunteer work, particularly with Parkinson’s UK Edinburgh branch. I am on the Board of Directors for North East Dementia Care Seagrove Centre (a not-for-profit registered charity). I also volunteer with Guide Dogs Scotland, Pet Fostering Service Scotland and Labradors in Need Scotland
