Catriona Macinnes

Biography	Catriona MacInnes trained as a performer and theatre maker at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and worked as an actor before going on to study film. Her first film I'm In Away From Here premiered in competition at the 65th Venice International Film Festival in 2008, and her second short A Cuillin Rising premiered at the 55th BFI London Film Festival in 2011. Her last short film Howls, produced by Samm Haillay (THIRD Films), was supported through the Scottish Film Talent Network (SFTN), part of the BFI NET.WORK, and and was nominated for best short Edinburgh International Film Festival, 2017. She is currently developing her first feature with Rebecca Mark-Lawson (Tyke Films) also supported by SFTN. Catriona developed a new draft of her feature length screenplay Gift From God through Bellrock in 2017. Applicants submitted project ideas and written material, which was reviewed initially by external readers before the final selection was made by Olivia Stewart and Ross McKenzie (Creative Scotland). The participants will attend three residential workshops at Hospitalfield House between June and October 2017. These will include one-to-one mentoring sessions; group discussions, presentations and masterclasses. Jul 2015 Cove Park - Jerwood Residencies YOUR MISTAKES WILL NOT GET YOU FIRED is the working title for a cross-art form performance inspired by the life and work of avant-garde filmmaker Maya Deren. Wils Wilson, theatre director; Catriona MacInnes, filmmaker and Madeleine Worrall, actor will research and develop ideas towards the creation of the piece, and will explore a collaborative creative process integrating live performance and film-making. Sep 2013 TIFF (Toronto) Talent Lab Talent Lab is an artistic development program during the Toronto International Film Festival that provides emerging talent with an unparalleled education experience and an introduction to the global community of filmmaking. Over a four-day period, selected participants have the opportunity to interact with and learn from internationally acclaimed filmmakers. Using the Festival’s outstanding relationships with world-class filmmakers, Talent Lab fulfills a tremendous need in the film industry, providing invaluable and incomparable artistic mentorship and development opportunities to a new generation of filmmakers. Feb 2013 Berlinale Talents Located in the close proximity of the festival centre and the European Film Market, Berlinale Talents hosts many events with Berlinale guests, renowned filmmakers and emerging talents in the three venues of the HAU Hebbel am Ufer. Jun 2012 Edinburgh Talent Lab: EIFF Emerging Scottish, UK and international directors, producers and screenwriters were offered the chance to discuss the industry, their projects and their ideas with a selection of invited industry professionals including sales agents, executive producers, literary agents, story editors and distributors. 2011-12 Playwrights Studio Scotland / Binger Film Lab The Screenwriting Residencies program took place in 2012. Nine new screenwriters were selected to develop a specific feature film script over a six month period. Participants worked with mentors including tutors from the Binger Film lab in Amsterdam. Over six months, they took part in a residential training programme, and enjoyed support from some of the world's leading script consultants, Marten Rabarts, Molly Stensgaard and Olivia Stewart. Jan 2010 Rough Mix, Magnetic North, Rough Mix 2010 - an interdisciplinary artistic residency ran at Dance Base in Edinburgh, supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Scottish Arts Council.
