Biography Ailsa is a Lecturer in Adult Nursing and the Field Lead for the undergraduate adult health students on the Bachelor of Nursing programme. As a former tissue viability nurse she ensures tissue viability in included in throughout the three year undergraduate programme for all fields of nursing, midwifery and also veterinary nursing.
Her particular interests are in education, equipping healthcare practitioners for their evolving role, and the resurgence of ‘old’ remedies like maggots and honey.
Research Interests Current research includes work on identifying infection in wounds and the application of topical antimicrobial wound dressings in a timely manner, avoiding the need for systemic antibiotics.
