Dr Kat Rezai Namaghi
Biography | Kat has a PhD in Marketing & Consumer Research from Edinburgh Napier University and is a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy. Kat's research interests are within consumer research, social media, marketing ethics and feminist marketing. Her recent work involves co-creating social media literacy workshops for teenage girls, which aims to educate, empower and enhance young women’s wellbeing when using social media apps. Kat has experience working with a range of Community Interest Groups with the focal aim of educating and empowering young people. An advocate for student engagement, Kat has a portfolio of innovative teaching practices to enhance student’s pedagogical development and overall experience. Kat is a huge fan of stand-up comedy, so much that she involves it as part of her research, teaching & public engagement work. Kat has performed at Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas at Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Belfast, and Glasgow) since 2018, which has led her to a range of exciting public engagement & research impact opportunities. She has also MC'd a number of local and national events. Kat is also Lead Organiser of Bright Club Edinburgh - a stand-up comedy club for Academics, geeks, nerds, and everything in between. |
