Abstract

This experiment consists of 15 pages, 13 of which were created in 2023 in the process of revising the original 2016 writing. Turtola communicates/reveals and hides/disguises the original semantic meanings, words and their original narrative using found texts. Texts are connected to one another using the method of text collage, uniformity of printing and paper size using copy machines and ordinary office printers and InDesign as a platform for mixing
and matching. Turtola destroys and reinvents information and uses constraints such as hiding the author, using found texts, copying exact sentences, translating freely with Google translator, and stamping and validating the work original with a fictive Ministry of Truth and Typography stamp. The collage connects foreign elements such as newspaper articles to travel literature. Digital technology, office B & W printer, A4 sheets and found texts are simultaneously constraints, materials, and methods. These documents connect real life to artistic life. These 15 documents challenge the traditional visuality of the printed book page that is often taken for granted and introduce alternative modes of writing.
