Abstract
These slides were presented at the 18th annual geomechanics from micro to macro conference in 2021 at the university of Dundee. They detail a study on the effect of inherent variability on soil parameters (such as initial void ratio, peak stress etc..) in discrete element simulations (DEM). It is seen that inherent variability induced by the random sample generation method in DEM has a notable impact on the variability of DEM parameters.
