Abstract

Andrew Frayn’s paper focuses on the post-war moment, examining the novelist, poet and philosopher May Sinclair’s post-war work. Sinclair volunteered for the Munro Ambulance Corps in 1914, and her experience of the war stimulated a sustained burst of creativity in the ensuing years. A suffragist, she dwells on the impact of the war on relations between men and women.
